The Mohave Desert setting just 879 feet above seal level, holds its own mystique. The surrounding mountains add to the overall appeal, creating a scenic environment that is know for pristine desert view and glorious sunsets.
The BLM has thousands of acres all around Quartzsite that offers very reasonable seasonal rates (long term 6 months) for camping. Plus the area features several RV campgrounds and manufactured home parks for those that like a few of the modern conveniences.
Quartzsite offers beautiful hiking and ATV trails on BLM land situated 125 miles west of Phoenix at the junction of interstate 10 and U.S. 95. It enjoys a close association with the Colorado River just 17 miles to the west. It is a two hour drive to Yuma, Arizona and Algodones, Mexico border where many visit for dental, eye glasses, prescriptions and market items. Nevada resorts and casinos are within driving distance to Laughlin and/or Las Vegas.
